buzz...

We had to give Wesley his first buzz cut b/c we had little old ladies coming up to us and asking us how old "SHE" is... He's SO cute!

Also, we had to get a fake tree this year b/c we didn't get around to getting a real one...Chris ended up picking this one up at Wal-Mart on the 20th of Dec. We'll have to take it back because not all the lights work and I'll be darned if we're going to pay that much for a fake tree and then not have all the lights work!

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

Recipe Exchange

Some of you will be receiving an e-mail about a recipe exchange, but I wanted to share this with you (just in case you delete things that you get from me before you read it). I made this the other night (really simple) and Chris steamed some cabbage...it was delicious together!

Mushroom Teriyaki Chicken
1-1/2 lb chicken breast
1 bottle KC Masterpiece Honey Teriyaki marinade (divided)
1/2 lb sliced mushrooms (I used 1 of those small cans of mushrooms)
1 tbsp butter
Hot cooked rice

Reserve 1/2 c. marinade and set aside. Marinate chicken 30 minutes to 12 hours. Saute mushrooms in butter over medium-high heat 5 minutes, or until most liquid has evaporated; stir in reserved marinade. Remove chicken from marinade, discarding excess marinade and place n single layer in shallow baking dish. Pour mushrooms over chicken. Bake at 350 for 35 min or until internal temp of chicken reaches 160. Serve over hot rice.

Have an AWESOME THANKSGIVING!

F.U.N!

Okay, first we'll start with Halloween. Not very original, but I decided to be a witch...the GS principal told me the day before that I looked like Sabrina...gee, never heard that one before! Anyway, Lydia was a cheerleader (for school) then decided to be Hannah Montana for the real thing.

Next, the kids and I took a trip to the Hindman house in Oz. Here is a picture of the kids on the roof, one generation after the original. Lydia thought it was SO cool to be able to walk around on the roof that the birdy (from badminton) kept flying up there. Strange! Then, it was bath time where Lydia showed us her artistic ability!

Sander Family Pictures (FINALLY)

Okay, so it's not professional photography (Bonnie, you did a great job...I think it's your subjects that are the problem). We had Bonnie take pictures the other day for Gramma Sander's bulletin board that Aunt Patsy is putting together. In each of these three pictures, one of our "goom-yas" is making a crazy face. One of these days (when I'm not so busy), I'll get an appt for us and the kids to get our pictures taken. Hope all is well, wherever you are!

Cheer!

Lydia participated in cheer/dance camp a couple of weeks ago and preformed at the last home FB game...what fun!! She really is fun to watch - Grandpa Hindman even got a chance to watch Lydia and the Knights beat Stockton 50-something to 0.

I forgot to update about Wesley's 6-mo appt. He was (as of 10-9-08) 16 # 13 oz and 27 inches long. I was a little worried b/c he's only in the 26% of boys his age in weight. Then I remembered he's crawling, of course, he's going to be thin.

Went to Osborne this past wkend...I'll get pictures posted soon - FUN STUFF - kids on the roof!

Uncles, Uncles Everywhere!

Isn't it awesome when Uncle Jim comes over? My kids seem to think so! Sometimes Taylor gets to come too!

Shout out to Uncle Matt..."Well you say it's your birthday (tomorrow) ~dun-nun-nun-nun-nun-na~, well it's Bob's birthday too (Monday) ~dun-nun-nun-nun-nun-na~ That was my attempt to sing a birthday song...it really sucks online! Hope your birthday's AWESOME! Sorry we can't be there to help you celebrate!

Big Boy!

When we got home from the Homecoming parade, Wesley decided to take a nap (on his legs). It was the cutest thing ever, but I can't imagine how comfortable it could be! :)

Wesley is 6-1/2 months old...He's growing like crazy! At his appt last Thursday, he ...well, I'll have to check his stats and get back to you! :) Hope all is well!

Hindman Family Fun

Chris and the kids and I went to Osborne for my birthday. It was great! We got to spend time with Mom and Dad, Katie, Jimmy, and even Grandma and Grandpa Rumbaugh were there to enjoy the festivities. Nothing very exciting happened except I drank all Jim's beer (and got in trouble for it) and made some salsa...of course, Dad forgot some of the ingredients so it was frickin' spicy!

Here it is (or isn't)!

Lydia lost her first tooth last month. She pulled it out during religion one morning, got a "tooth treasure chest" from the school nurse, put her tooth in that, then somehow (I suppose showing it off) lost it down the drain in the bathroom. (At least that's the story I got after about 30 minutes of Lydia trying to explain it all!)

Can you believe that Lydi is 6?! For her birthday, we went to Clayton (Chris' cousin) and Amanda's wedding in Bazine (dance in LaCrosse). Lydia and Lucas had a blast dancing the night away. Of course, Wesley wasn't feeling the best, so Bonnie, the kids and I didn't stay all night. Chris and Steve had to stay home and work in the field. (BUMMER but necessary!)

Trip to "Salsa"

When Lydia was in Osborne a couple of wkends ago, Dad said, "I'm going to make salsa."  To which Lydia replied, "Hey, we're going to Tulsa!"  :)  Here are some pictures of our trip.  Lydia and Wesley at the races, and the kids enjoying a ride and some games at Chucky Cheese...talk about the best $10 I've ever spent!

Sorry!

Sorry, K!  Wesley only woke up twice last night, so there's hope! :)  I understand completely - there's no way our hubbies are anywhere close to as tired as we are, but "that's a Mom's job!"  Jim came over Tuesday for spaghetti and watched the kids while I took my 3rd test - did alright.  Tonight, I was signed up to supervise the middle school FB game, so I got home, did dishes, Lydia and I ate leftovers then we loaded up for the ball game.  Of course, 5 minutes after we got there it started poring!  The ended up calling the ball game after we (Lydia, Wesley, and I) stood in the rain (ok, under the awning) for almost an hour!  Lydia had a blast...even though she had her rain coat on, she managed to get soaked.  Well, better read for a while since the kids are asleep...

Labor Day...

I don't have a "new" picture - probably won't every time I post...Chris and Lydia are eating cereal getting ready to go wash the van, and Wesley's already down for his morning nap.  Have a GREAT wk! :)

Lydia's turn...

Someone is not getting enough attention!  So, she's sitting on my lap right now, and I'm going to show her how I post a picture of her! :)  Hope all is well...looking forward to seeing pictures from Kambren's baptism and the "wedding"!
